Savor the vibrant flavors of Chapli Kebab, a traditional Afghan dish made with spiced ground beef, fresh herbs, and a hint of chili. Perfect for a hearty weeknight dinner or a festive gathering with friends and family.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 grams ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon fresh coriander
- 1 tablespoon fresh mint
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 egg large
- Salt to taste salt
- Oil for frying vegetable oil
Method
- 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, coriander, mint, crushed cumin seeds, red chili powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
- 2
Add the beaten egg to the meat mixture. This will help bind the ingredients together.
- 3
Shape the mixture into flat patties, approximately 1/2 inch thick.
- 4
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Carefully place the patties in the hot oil.
- 5
Fry the kebabs for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- 6
Once cooked, remove the kebabs from the skillet and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 7
Serve the Chapli Kebabs hot with naan, yogurt, and fresh salad.
