Indulge in the heartwarming flavors of Swiss cuisine with Capuns, a delightful dish of Swiss chard wrapped around a savory filling of bacon and cheese. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a special gathering with friends.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 200 g white flour
- 1 ts salt
- 2 large eggs
- 150 ml milk
- 200 g Swiss chard leaves
- 100 g diced bacon
- 100 g grated cheese
- 500 ml vegetable broth
Method
- 1
In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt together.
- 2
Add the beaten eggs and milk (or water) to the flour mixture, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
- 3
In a separate pan, sauté the diced bacon until crispy, then add the chopped Swiss chard and cook until wilted.
- 4
Fold the bacon and chard mixture into the batter, followed by the grated cheese.
- 5
Scoop a spoonful of the mixture onto each Swiss chard leaf, roll it up tightly, and place seam-side down in a pot.
- 6
Pour the vegetable broth over the rolls and bring to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook for approximately 30 minutes.
- 7
Once cooked, serve the Capuns warm with additional cheese if desired.
