Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup red bean paste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Method

  1. 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.

  2. 2

Slowly add the milk to the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth batter forms.

  3. 3

Preheat a bungeoppang mold or fish-shaped waffle pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with vegetable oil.

  4. 4

Pour a small amount of batter into one side of the mold to create a base layer.

  5. 5

Add a spoonful of red bean paste (or your filling of choice) on top of the batter.

  6. 6

Cover with more batter until the mold is filled, then close the mold and cook for about 3-5 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.

  7. 7

Carefully remove the bungeoppang from the mold and let cool slightly before serving.

  8. 8

Enjoy your bungeoppang warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or served with syrup.
