Savor the rich flavors of Korean bulgogi, where tender beef sirloin is marinated in a sweet and savory blend of soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil. Ideal for a weeknight dinner or a special gathering with friends.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 grams beef sirloin
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon ginger
- 1 medium onion
- 1 medium carrot
- 2 green onions sliced
Method
- 1
In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Mix well to create the marinade.
- 2
Add the thinly sliced beef sirloin to the marinade. Ensure all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for more flavor).
- 3
Heat a grill or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef to the pan, spreading it out evenly.
- 4
Cook the beef for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned and cooked through.
- 5
Add sliced onion and julienned carrot to the beef in the last 2 minutes of cooking. Stir to combine and soften the vegetables slightly.
- 6
Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
- 7
Serve hot with steamed rice and lettuce wraps, if desired.
