Indulge in the comforting warmth of Bubur Kacang, a traditional Indonesian dessert made with creamy mung beans, rich coconut milk, and sweet palm sugar. Perfect for a cozy evening treat or a delightful end to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mung beans
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup palm sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 leaf pandan leaf

Method

  1. 1

Rinse the soaked mung beans under cold water until the water runs clear.

  2. 2

In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the mung beans and pandan leaf.

  3. 3

Reduce the heat and let the beans simmer for about 30 minutes, or until they are soft and mushy.

  4. 4

Stir in the coconut milk, palm sugar, and salt. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.

  5. 5

Let the mixture simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

  6. 6

Remove the pandan leaf and serve the Bubur Kacang warm as a dessert or snack.
