Indulge in the rich, chocolatey bliss of Brigadeiro, a beloved Brazilian treat made with sweetened condensed milk and cocoa. Perfect for celebrations or a sweet pick-me-up any day of the week.

Ingredients

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup chocolate sprinkles
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. 1

In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter, and vanilla extract (if using).

  2. 2

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until the mixture thickens and starts pulling away from the sides of the pan, about 10-15 minutes.

  3. 3

Once thickened, remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.

  4. 4

Grease your hands lightly with butter and scoop small portions of the mixture to roll into balls, about 1 inch in diameter.

  5. 5

Roll the balls in chocolate sprinkles until fully coated.

  6. 6

Place the Brigadeiros on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.

  7. 7

Serve chilled or at room temperature as a sweet treat for any festive occasion.
