Savor the heartwarming flavors of Belgium with these tender Boulets Liégeois, featuring juicy ground beef, aromatic garlic, and a hint of Worcestershire sauce. Ideal for a cozy weeknight dinner that brings the family together.

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg large egg
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 500 ml beef broth
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste seasoning

Method

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. 2

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined.

  3. 3

Form the mixture into large meatballs, approximately the size of a golf ball.

  4. 4

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the meatballs on all sides, then transfer them to a baking dish.

  5. 5

In the same skillet, add the beef broth, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan.

  6. 6

Pour the sauce evenly over the meatballs in the baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  7. 7

After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.

  8. 8

Garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your Boulets Liégeois with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
