Savor the rich flavors of Portugal with this Bifana, featuring tender pork loin marinated in garlic, white wine, and paprika, served in crusty rolls. Ideal for a cozy weeknight dinner or a casual gathering with friends.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices pork loin
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon bay leaf
  • salt to taste salt
  • 4 bread rolls Portuguese bread rolls

Method

  1. 1

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. 2

Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 3

Add the pork loin slices to the skillet, seasoning with salt and paprika, and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

Pour in the white wine and add the crumbled bay leaf. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

While the sauce simmers, prepare the bread rolls by slicing them in half.

  6. 6

Once the pork is cooked and the sauce is thickened, place the pork slices onto the bottom halves of the rolls.

  7. 7

Spoon some of the sauce over the pork and cover with the other half of the rolls.

  8. 8

Serve the bifanas hot and enjoy your meal!
