- 1 cup Yellow split peas (moong dal)
- 1 medium Onion
- 2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tablespoons Mustard oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 4 cups Water
- Salt to taste Salt
Method

Heat mustard oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are golden brown.

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add turmeric powder, yellow split peas, and soaked rice. Stir well to combine.

Pour in the water and season with salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
