Savor the rich flavors of Indonesia with Bakso, tender beef meatballs infused with garlic and soy sauce, served in a warm broth. Ideal for cozy weeknight dinners or a comforting weekend feast with friends.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 grams beef mince
- 100 grams tapioca starch
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 liter water
- 2 stalks green onions
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon pepper
Method
- 1
In a large bowl, combine the beef mince, tapioca starch, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the mixture is smooth and sticky.
- 2
Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 2-3 cm in diameter.
- 3
In a pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil. Carefully drop the meatballs into the boiling water and cook until they float to the surface, about 10-15 minutes.
- 4
Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the pot and set aside. Keep the broth for the soup.
- 5
Add the soy sauce to the broth and stir to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- 6
Serve the meatballs in bowls with the broth, garnished with sliced green onions.
- 7
Enjoy your Bakso hot, optionally with chili sauce or fried shallots for extra flavor.
