Ingredients

  • 1 kg Ikan Mas (Carp)
  • 2 tbsp Tamarind paste
  • 2 tbsp Cooking oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 5 pieces Candlenuts
  • 2 tbsp Turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 3 cups Water

Method

    In a bowl, mix tamarind paste with water and set aside.

    In a large pot, heat the cooking oil over medium heat.

    Add chopped garlic and blended candlenuts to the pot, sauté until aromatic.

    Stir in turmeric and salt, mixing thoroughly for about 2 minutes.

    Add the cleaned carp to the pot and pour the tamarind mixture over the fish.

    Cover and simmer on low heat for about 45 minutes, until the fish is cooked through.
