- 4 ripe plantains
- 1 cup arequipe (dulce de leche)
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups oil

Peel the ripe plantains and cut them in half lengthwise and then into quarters.

In a bowl, mash the plantains until smooth.

Mix in the flour, sugar, salt, and enough water to form a smooth batter.

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

Take a portion of the plantain mixture, flatten it, and place a spoonful of arequipe in the center. Fold it over to encase the filling.
