Savor the warmth of homemade wontons filled with tender ground pork, fragrant ginger, and crisp green onions. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a delightful appetizer at your next gathering.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 1 cup ground pork
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 package wonton wrappers
- 3 cups chicken broth
Method
- 1
In a bowl, combine ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and green onions. Mix well to create the filling.
- 2
Take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling in the center.
- 3
Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over to create a triangle, and press to seal. Optionally, bring the two corners together to form a tortellini shape.
- 4
In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Carefully add the wontons in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot.
- 5
Cook the wontons for 3-5 minutes, or until they float to the top and the filling is cooked through.
- 6
Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and drain. Serve hot in a bowl with additional broth if desired.
- 7
Garnish with additional chopped green onions or chili oil for extra flavor.
