Indulge in homemade ravioles, a delightful Italian dish filled with creamy ricotta and Parmesan, enveloped in tender pasta. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a special gathering with loved ones.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- to taste none fresh basil
Method
- 1
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Make a well in the center and add 2 eggs. Mix until the dough forms.
- 2
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth. Wrap in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 3
In a separate bowl, mix the ricotta, Parmesan cheese, and the remaining egg. Season with a pinch of salt and mix until smooth.
- 4
Roll out the rested dough into thin sheets. Place spoonfuls of the filling on one sheet, leaving space in between. Cover with another sheet of dough and press around the edges to seal.
- 5
Cut the ravioles into squares or circles using a knife or a pasta cutter. Ensure the edges are sealed properly.
- 6
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Gently add the ravioles and cook for about 4-5 minutes until they float to the surface. Drain carefully.
- 7
In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the cooked ravioles and toss gently for a minute to coat them in oil.
- 8
Serve the ravioles with warm marinara sauce and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
