Savor the rich flavors of Turkish Patlıcan Kebap, where tender eggplants embrace spiced ground beef, garlic, and onions. Ideal for a cozy weeknight dinner or a delightful weekend gathering with friends.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium eggplants
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Method

  1. 1

Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.

  2. 2

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes. Mix well until thoroughly combined.

  3. 3

Take a slice of eggplant, mold a small amount of the meat mixture onto it, and then cover it with another slice of eggplant to form a kebab. Repeat until all ingredients are used.

  4. 4

Brush the assembled kebabs with olive oil on both sides.

  5. 5

Place the kebabs on the grill or in a baking dish and cook for about 15 minutes on each side, or until the meat is cooked through and the eggplant is tender.

  6. 6

Once cooked, remove from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

  7. 7

Serve hot with rice or fresh salad on the side.
