Savor the vibrant flavors of this Orange Chicken, where tender chicken thighs are enveloped in a sweet and tangy orange glaze, enhanced with ginger and garlic. Ideal for a weeknight dinner that feels special.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 grams chicken thighs
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Method
- 1
In a bowl, combine chicken thighs and cornstarch, mix well to coat the chicken evenly.
- 2
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- 3
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add ginger and garlic, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 4
Pour in the orange juice and soy sauce, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- 5
Return the fried chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat the chicken in the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 6
Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish.
- 7
Serve the orange chicken hot, ideally with steamed rice or vegetables.
