Ingredients

  • 225 g self-raising flour
  • 50 g unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp caster sugar
  • 125 ml full-fat milk
  • 100 g jam
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 4 tbsp water

Method

    In a mixing bowl, combine the self-raising flour, softened butter, and caster sugar. Mix until crumbly.

    Gradually add the milk to the flour mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.

    On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 0.5 cm thick.

    Spread the jam evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

    Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other to form a log. Seal the edges by pinching them together.

    Wrap the log in a piece of baking parchment, securing the ends. Then wrap it in foil.
