Ingredients

  • 4 medium yellow onions
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 8 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 4 slices French baguette
  • 1 cup gruyère cheese

Method
