Experience the bold flavors of South India with Chicken 65, a spicy, crispy fried chicken dish marinated in yogurt and aromatic spices. Perfect for a lively weeknight dinner or a festive gathering with friends!

Ingredients

  • 500 grams boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt to taste Ingredient 9
  • 2 cups oil

Method

  1. 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt to create a marinade.

  2. 2

Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for best flavor.

  3. 3

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Ensure the oil is hot before frying the chicken.

  4. 4

Fry the marinated chicken pieces in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch.

  5. 5

Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

  6. 6

Serve hot, garnished with sliced onions and fresh cilantro, or with lemon wedges on the side.
