Indulge in the comforting flavors of Bramborové Knedlíky, soft potato dumplings that melt in your mouth. Ideal for a cozy weeknight dinner, these delightful bites pair beautifully with savory stews or rich gravies.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 200 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 100 g bread crumbs
  • 50 g butter

Method

    Boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until they are tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and let them cool slightly.

    Mash the boiled potatoes until smooth, then let them cool completely.

    In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, beaten egg, and salt. Mix until a smooth dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour.

    Divide the dough into equal parts and shape each part into a ball, about the size of a golf ball.

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Gently drop the knedlíky into the boiling water in batches. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until they float to the surface.

    While the knedlíky are cooking, melt the butter in a pan and add the bread crumbs. Sauté until golden brown.
