Savor the comforting taste of homemade Spätzle, a delightful German dish made with tender egg noodles, buttery richness, and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a festive gathering with friends.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup parsley
- 1/4 cup grated cheese
Method
- 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
- 2
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the eggs and milk.
- 3
Mix until you have a smooth, thick batter. Let it rest for about 10 minutes.
- 4
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Prepare a colander or large sieve.
- 5
Using a Spätzle maker or a large holed colander, press the batter into the boiling water.
- 6
Cook until the Spätzle float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Remove them using a slotted spoon.
- 7
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the Spätzle for a few minutes until lightly golden.
- 8
Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and cheese if desired.
