Indulge in these golden, flaky sausage rolls filled with savory pork sausage, aromatic garlic, and a hint of parsley. Ideal for a cozy weeknight dinner or as a crowd-pleasing appetizer at your next gathering.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 grams pork sausage meat
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 packet puff pastry
- 1 beaten egg
- salt and pepper to taste salt and pepper
Method
- 1
Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
- 2
In a large bowl, combine the pork sausage meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 3
Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into rectangles, approximately 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6 in) each.
- 4
Place a generous amount of the sausage mixture along one edge of each pastry rectangle. Roll the pastry over the filling, sealing the edges with a fork or by pinching them together.
- 5
Brush the tops of the sausage rolls with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.
- 6
Place the sausage rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 7
Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving.
