IngredientsWhat you need
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup ghee or vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 medium potatoes
- 1 tea spoon cumin seeds
- 1 tea spoon coriander powder
- 1/2 tea spoon chili powder
- 1 tea spoon salt
- oil for frying vegetable oil
Method
- 1
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, ghee (or vegetable oil), and salt. Mix well.
- 2
Gradually add water to the flour mixture and knead it into a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- 3
In another bowl, mix the mashed potatoes, cumin seeds, coriander powder, chili powder, and salt. Combine thoroughly to make the filling.
- 4
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin oval or circle and cut it in half to form two semi-circles.
- 5
Take one semi-circle, fold it into a cone shape, and seal the edge. Fill it with the potato mixture and seal the open edge by pressing it tightly.
- 6
Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Once hot, gently drop the prepared samosas into the oil, frying until golden brown on all sides.
- 7
Remove the samosas and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with chutney or sauce.
