Experience the rich, aromatic flavors of Qahwa, a traditional Arabic coffee infused with cardamom and a hint of saffron. Perfect for a cozy afternoon gathering or a special occasion, this warm beverage invites conversation and connection.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons Arabica coffee
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom pods
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 pinch saffron

Method

  1. 1

Boil the water in a traditional dallah (coffee pot) over medium heat.

  2. 2

Once the water reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low and add the finely ground Arabica coffee.

  3. 3

Stir in the crushed cardamom pods and saffron (if using) and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes.

  4. 4

Remove the dallah from heat and allow the coffee to settle for a few minutes.

  5. 5

Optionally, strain the coffee to remove the grounds and spices before serving.

  6. 6

Pour the Qahwa into small cups and add sugar to taste, if desired.

  7. 7

Serve hot alongside dates or nuts for a traditional experience.
