- 375 ml oil
- 500 ml sugar
- 3 eggs
- 750 ml flour
- 5 ml bicarbonate soda
- 5 ml salt
- 5 ml vanilla essence
- 1 large tin pears (drained and chopped)
- 250 ml pecan or walnuts
- 5 ml cinnamon
- 30 ml butter
- 375 ml icing sugar
- 45 ml pear juice

Cream together oil and sugar.

Add eggs singly, beating well after each.

Add all dry ingredients that have been sifted together, then vanilla.

Finally fold in nuts and chopped pears.

Pour into 2 greased loaf tins.

Bake at 160 degrees C for 1 hour 10 mins approx.

While still warm, pour over icing mix.
