Indulge in these Messy Meatball Buns, where juicy beef meatballs meet vibrant green pesto and melted mozzarella, all nestled in soft burger buns. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner that the whole family will love!
Meatballs
What you need
- 400 g lean minced beef
- 8 teaspoons green pesto
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1 pinch black pepper

Split minced beef into 12 pieces and roll into balls.

Brown the balls in a non-stick frying pan with a tablespoon of olive oil, shaking the pan regularly.

Once the balls are golden and gnarly, pour in the tomatoes.
Tomato Sauce
What you need
- 1 can plum tomatoes
Method

Add a quarter of a tin's worth of water to the boil, slice the mozzarella, and lay over the balls.

Let it thicken for 5 minutes on medium heat.
Buns
What you need
- 1 ball mozzarella

Warm the buns in the oven on a low heat.

Split each bun and spread a heaped teaspoon of pesto inside.

Serve the meatballs with the sauce, and mozzarella, with a little sauce on the side for dunking.
Notes
Use clean hands to scrunch the minced beef with the pesto.
