Savor the unique flavors of kangaroo steak, marinated with rosemary and zesty lemon, served alongside vibrant seasonal vegetables. This Australian-inspired dish is perfect for a weeknight dinner that impresses.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 2 steaks kangaroo fillet
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 1 cup seasonal vegetables
- 1 lemon zest and juice
Method
- 1
Remove the kangaroo steaks from the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for about 10 minutes.
- 2
In a bowl, mix olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, lemon zest, and juice. Add the rosemary sprigs and stir to combine.
- 3
Coat the kangaroo steaks with the marinade and let them sit for at least 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 4
While the steaks are marinating, prepare the vegetables by chopping them into bite-sized pieces.
- 5
Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated kangaroo steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
- 6
In the same pan, add the chopped vegetables and sauté until they are tender and slightly charred, about 5-7 minutes.
- 7
Once cooked, remove the kangaroo steaks from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes before slicing.
- 8
Serve the sliced kangaroo steak with the sautéed vegetables on the side and enjoy your meal!
