IngredientsWhat you need
- 1 large cabbage
- 500 grams ground pork
- 100 grams rice
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- to taste salt and pepper
Method
- 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and place it in the boiling water. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the outer leaves begin to soften. Remove the cabbage and let it cool.
- 2
In a medium pot, cook the rice according to package instructions. Set aside to cool.
- 3
In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 4
Once the cabbage is cool enough to handle, carefully peel off the soft outer leaves. Take one leaf, place about 2 tablespoons of the filling at the base of the leaf, fold the sides over, and roll tightly. Repeat until all filling is used.
- 5
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in a baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce over the rolls, covering them completely.
- 6
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes to allow the tops to brown slightly.
- 7
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Gołąbki warm with extra tomato sauce if desired.
