Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Method

    In a medium saucepan, bring the water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to a boil.

    Once boiling, remove from heat and quickly stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.

    Allow the dough to cool slightly, then transfer it to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.

    In a deep frying pan, heat 1 cup of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

    Carefully pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length with scissors.

    Fry the churros until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

    Remove the churros from the oil and drain on paper towels.

    Mix the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar with the cinnamon, then roll the warm churros in the mixture before serving.
