Indulge in the rich, creamy flavors of Butter Chicken, a beloved Indian classic. This dish, featuring tender chicken simmered in a spiced tomato sauce, is perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a special gathering with friends.

- 1 kg boneless chicken thighs
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 salt to taste
- 2 tbsp cilantro leaves

In a bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Add the chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 10-15 minutes. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, melt the remaining butter and add the tomato puree. Cook for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Add the heavy cream and garam masala to the sauce, stirring well. Simmer for another 5 minutes.

Add the cooked chicken to the sauce and mix well, simmering for another 5-10 minutes to combine the flavors.

Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves before serving.
