Enjoy the simplicity of perfectly boiled eggs, seasoned with salt, pepper, and a hint of vinegar for a delightful twist. Ideal for a nutritious breakfast or as a protein-packed snack any time of day.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 sprigs coriander
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Method
- 1
Fill a saucepan with enough water to cover the eggs and add salt. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
- 2
Once the water is boiling, carefully add the eggs to the pot using a spoon to avoid cracking.
- 3
Reduce the heat to a gentle boil and allow the eggs to cook for about 9-12 minutes, depending on your preferred doneness (9 minutes for slightly soft yolks, 12 minutes for hard-boiled).
- 4
While the eggs are boiling, prepare a bowl of ice water. This will help cool the eggs quickly after cooking.
- 5
Once the eggs are done, transfer them immediately to the ice water bath to stop the cooking process. Let them sit for about 5 minutes.
- 6
After cooling, gently tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel under running water for easier removal.
- 7
Optionally, heat vegetable oil in a small pan and fry chopped coriander for a minute. This will enhance the flavor and aroma.
- 8
Slice the boiled eggs in half, season with black pepper and optional fried coriander, then serve warm or at room temperature.
