Experience the rich, aromatic allure of Turkish coffee, a delightful blend of finely ground coffee, sugar, and a hint of cardamom. Perfect for a cozy afternoon or after a festive meal, this traditional brew invites warmth and connection.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons finely ground Turkish coffee
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 pinch cardamom

Method

  1. 1

Measure 2 cups of cold water and pour it into a cezve (Turkish coffee pot).

  2. 2

Add 2 tablespoons of finely ground Turkish coffee to the water.

  3. 3

Stir in 1 tablespoon of sugar and a pinch of cardamom if desired.

  4. 4

Place the cezve on low heat and slowly bring the mixture to a boil while stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

As soon as it begins to froth and bubble, remove it from the heat. Let it settle for about 30 seconds.

  6. 6

Return it to the heat and repeat the boiling process two more times. Remove from heat each time before it overflows.

  7. 7

Pour the coffee into cups, making sure to leave the grounds in the cezve.

  8. 8

Allow the coffee to sit for a moment so the grounds settle, then enjoy your Turkish coffee.
