Indulge in the delightful crunch of sesame balls, a beloved Asian treat filled with sweet red bean paste. Perfect for a festive gathering or a cozy afternoon snack, these golden bites are sure to please everyone.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sweet red bean paste
  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • Oil for frying vegetable oil

Method

  1. 1

In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour and sugar. Gradually add water while mixing until a soft dough forms.

  2. 2

Divide the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter). Flatten each ball in your palm and place a small amount of sweet red bean paste in the center.

  3. 3

Wrap the dough around the filling and roll it into a smooth ball. Repeat until all dough and filling are used.

  4. 4

Roll each ball in sesame seeds until fully coated. Make sure they are well covered.

  5. 5

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Once hot, gently drop in the sesame balls in small batches.

  6. 6

Fry the sesame balls for about 5-7 minutes or until they turn golden brown and float to the surface. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  7. 7

Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your homemade sesame balls warm!
