Indulge in a tropical delight with this Pineapple Tart, featuring a buttery crust and sweet pineapple jam. Perfect for a sunny afternoon tea or a festive gathering, it brings a taste of paradise to your table.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 125 g unsalted butter
- 70 g powdered sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 can pineapple jam
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 pinch salt
Method
- 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- 2
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Mix well.
- 3
Add the cubed cold butter to the flour mixture and rub in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- 4
Stir in the egg yolk and mix until a dough forms. If too crumbly, add a little cold water until it holds together.
- 5
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
- 6
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into circles to fit your tart molds. Press the dough into the molds.
- 7
Fill each tart shell with pineapple jam, smoothing the top.
- 8
For the egg wash, whisk the egg yolk with milk and brush the edges of the tart shells. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
