- 2 kg live crabs
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp ginger
- 2 tbsp chili paste
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 stalks coriander

Clean and prepare the crabs, breaking them into pieces if desired.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or pot over medium heat.

Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.

Stir in the chili paste, tomato puree, soy sauce, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer.

Add the crab pieces to the sauce, cover, and cook for about 15-20 minutes until crabs are cooked through.

Mix cornstarch with a little water and add to the sauce to thicken it, stirring well.
