Experience the warmth of Turkish hospitality with this traditional tea, steeped to perfection and sweetened to your liking. Ideal for cozy gatherings or a soothing afternoon break, this brew is a delightful sip of culture.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons Turkish black tea leaves
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teapot traditional Turkish tea pot (çaydanlık)

Method

  1. 1

Fill the larger pot of the çaydanlık with 4 cups of filtered water and bring it to a boil.

  2. 2

Once the water is boiling, add 4 tablespoons of Turkish black tea leaves to the smaller pot.

  3. 3

Pour about half of the boiling water from the larger pot into the smaller pot with the tea leaves, allowing it to steep for 10-15 minutes.

  4. 4

After steeping, pour the remaining boiling water from the larger pot into the smaller pot to dilute the tea concentrate to your desired strength.

  5. 5

Serve the tea hot in small tulip-shaped glasses, adding sugar to taste if desired.
